What is an Astromon?[]

Astromons are unique and mystical lifeforms, closer in likeness to the stars than they are regular organisms. Have you heard of the five stars of Latecia? Each one represents an element: fire, water, wood, light, and dark. Each Astromon's elemental affinity differs depending on the star under which it is born.

Elements[]

There are a total of 5 elements, each of which is strong against another. Using these elemental strengths to your advantage will be important on your adventures. See the table below for strengths and weaknesses.

Damage

▼ A t t a c k e r ▼

Element Fire x1 x1.5 x0.5 x1 x1
Element Water x0.5 x1 x1.5 x1 x1
Element Wood x1.5 x0.5 x1 x1 x1
Element Light x1 x1 x1 x1 x1.5
Element Dark x1 x1 x1 x1.5 x1

Stats[]

Astromons have a total of 8 stats. If HP, Attack, Defense, or Recovery result in a total with a decimal value, it will round to the nearest whole number (e.g. 20000.1 HP will be rounded to 20000 HP and 20000.9 HP will be rounded to 20001 HP).

Stat Description
HP The more hit points an Astromon has, the longer it can survive in battle.
Attack power Increases the amount of damage dealt to enemies.
Defense Decreases damage received from enemies.
Recovery Affects the amount of HP (but not SP) restored from absorbed red souls and recovery skills, and when progressing between rounds.
Critical hit rate Increases the rate at which Astromons deal critical hits, particularly powerful blows.
Critical hit damage Increases the amount of damage a critical hit deals.
Resistance Increases resistance to abnormal status effects. (there is a net cap of 85%)
Critical Resist Decreases the likelihood that an enemy's attack will be a critical hit.

All Astromons' base critical resist is 0%.

Battle Types[]

Astromons come in one of 5 different battle types. Each Astromon's type is preset and fixed; for example, all fire-elemental Mihos will always be the same type. However, the same Astromons of different elements can have different battle types, so make sure to take advantage of this when strategizing.

Battle Type Description
Balanced Balanced Stats
Tank Increased HP;
Decreased Attack, Defense and Recovery.
Attacker Increased Attack;
Decreased HP, Defense and Recovery.
Defender Increased Defense;
Decreased HP, Attack and Recovery.
Recovery Increased Recovery;
Decreased HP, Attack and Defense.

An Astromon's base critical hit rate, critical hit damage, and resistance are affected by its element and battle type.

Astromon Type Crit. Damage Crit. Rate Resist.
Fire/Water/Wood 50% 10% 20%
Non-Healer Dark 100% 10% 0%
Non-Healer Light 50% 20% 0%
Light/Dark Healer 50% 10% 30%

Skills[]

Every Astromon has a normal skill and an active skill. A normal skill is a basic attack that can be used at any time, while an active skill is a special move that can be used after filling up an Astromon's skill gauge. Active skills may be a stronger attack, hit all enemies, or heal allies. Normal and active skills have passive skills that activate when they are used. Variant Astromons also possess a leader skill, which provides a bonus to the entire team when that Astromon is in the first slot in a team.

For more information, see main article: Skills

Upgrading Your Astromon[]

An Astromon's stats can be increased by raising their level and evolving them. They can also increase their maximum level and learn new passive skills by ascending.

Experience[]

Experience, also referred as to as "EXP" is mainly earned by winning battles in Adventure and Dungeons, and is required to level up Astromons.

The amount of experience gained by Astromons in battle is determined by several factors, such as the difficulty or stage number of the adventure area or dungeon respectively. Experience is divided evenly between Astromons not at max level, so if more Astromons in a party are at max level, the remaining Astromon(s) will earn more.

As Astromons increase in level and grade, the amount of experience needed to level up also increases.

Astromons can also earn experience using Fruits. Feeding fruits to your Astromons will increase their experience points by a set amount but also costs Gold. Fruits come in three levels: low, mid, and high, with higher-level fruits granting more EXP. Elemental fruits grant bonus EXP when fed to an Astromon of the same element. Low fruit matching the daily element can be fed to Astromons for free, while <Low> Star Fruit can be used for free on the weekends.

Evolution[]

Astromons can be used as materials to awaken an Astromon of the same species. After awakening an Astromon three times, it is possible to evolve them into a more powerful form. Some Astromons are also eligible for special types of evolution, such as Super Evolution and Ultimate Evolution.

For more information, see main article: Evolution

Ascension[]

Astromon can be ascended by spending starstones to increase their rarity stars (grade). Increasing an Astromon's grade resets their level to 1, and increases their maximum level. Upon reaching grades 3 and 5, the passive skills for an Astromon's normal and active skills respectively will be unlocked.

For more information, see main article: Ascension

Equipable Items[]

Certain items can be equipped to your Astromon, increasing their stats and potentially providing other bonuses.

Gems[]

Special gems which come in three different shapes can be slotted into an Astromon's gem slot of the same shape. Gems have a random main stat as well as up to four random substats. Upgrading gems will increase the size of the stat bonus they provide. Equipping three gems of the same color will provide an additional bonus, depending on the color of the equipped gems.

For more information, see main article: Gems

Trinkets[]

Stat-boosting trinkets which can be equipped to any Astromon, the bonuses they provide are less random, and generally less powerful than those of gems.

For more information, see main article: Trinkets

Void Crystals[]

Special crystals obtained from the Void Dungeon which increase an Astromon's stats and potentially provide other bonuses. Void Crystals are more advanced than gems and trinkets, and can only be equipped on an Astromon who has reached level 60.

For more information, see main article: Void Crystals
