"Whilst resting near the sanctuary and enjoying the beautiful scenery, I suddenly felt the oddest sensation. It was as though the rocks themselves began to move, but their movements seemed far too subtle and slow to indicate life. The effect was quite jarring, and as a seasoned adventurer, it was unlike anything I had ever seen."

Near Star Sanctuary is a strip of land with numerous potholes believed by many to have been made by tiny shards of large meteors that burned up in the atmosphere. In reality, they were caused by Cragglers protecting the sanctuary from invaders.
After serving for ages as protectors, Cragglers usually return to the dust from which they came. However, in certain exceptional cases, they evolve even further into Stonelems, giant and powerful protectors who are best left undisturbed.
"Its slow movements had me thinking it would be easy pickings for such a veteran adventurer as myself. I figured I could simply knock it over and be victory would be mine, but what turned out to be my downfall in that fight was my severe underestimation of how heavy it would be."

This Astromon is more aggressive than its light-elemental counterpart, but with a little bit of agility, most adventurers should have no problem subduing it.
It is only after several decades of progression that a dark Craggler can evolve into its final form. When angered, it destroys any objects around it indiscriminately, making it unfit to take on the role of protector.
